Outsourcing to an indpendent contractor vs. hiring an employee

Hiring a company like Métier to provide administrative support to your business can be a cost effective way to improve your workflow. While we can provide similar services to what an employee could do, it is important to keep in mind there are differences between what you can expect from outsourcing administrative work (client) verses having an employee (employer).

Métier is a consulting company/vendor which sets our own fees, hours, policies and procedures. All jobs – the scope, materials, fee and deadline(s) are agreed to by our clients prior to commencement of work. A hired employee can be managed, reports directly to the employer and has certain legal and tax obligations.

The U.S. Dept. of Labor and the IRS defines and govern what constitutes an employee versus an independent contractor relationship.
